Presentazione
Roger Wittevrongel è nato a Blankenberge (Belgio) nel 1933.
Vive e lavora aGand, dove insegna all’Accademia di Belle Arti.
Dal 1948 al 1953 ha frequentato la Scuola Normale di Stato per Insegnanti
a Blankenberge.
Dal 1953 al 1956 ha seguito i corsi dell'Accademia Reale di Belle
Arti di Gand e dal 1954 al 1956 è stato allievo di Octave Landuyt
presso la Scuola Normale di Stato per Insegnanti per l'Istruzione
Seconda ria (sezione Arti Plastiche).
Ha ottenuto il « Premio della Giovane Pittura Belga» nel
1958, 1960, 1962 e 1963 e il «Premio della Pittura della Pro
vincia della Fiandra Occidentale » nel 1960.
La sua prima mostra personale ha avuto luogo nel 1958 al Circolo Reale
Artistico e Letterario di Gent.
Successivamente ha esposto: nel 1961 al Rotterdamse Kunstkring, Rotterdam;
nel 1963 alla Galerie St. Laurent, Bruxelles; nel 1964 alla Galerie
Trefpunt, Gent; nel 1966 alla Galerie M.A.S., Deinze; nel 1968 alla
Galerie R. Foncke, Gent; nel 1970 al Benelux Festival, Scarborough
e alla Galerie L'Ecuyer, Bruxelles; nel 1974 alla Galerie F. De Vries,
Rotterdam; nel 1975 al Palais des Beaux-Arts, Bruxelles e alla Galerie
F. De Vries, Rotterdam; nel 1976 alla Galerie Craven, Parigi e alla
Galerij Linden, Venlo.
Ha partecipato a diverse mostre collettive fra cui: nel 1958 al «
Premio -del-la Giovane Pittura Belga» al Palais des Beaux-Arts,
Bruxelles; nel 1959 al « Grote Prijs van de stad Oostende voor
Schilderkunst », Ostenda; nel 1960 alla mostra « Contrast.
