In this book, 59 iconic and contemporary design products are analysed and featured from conceptual design sketch to realisation.
Whether crafted by the hands of a carpenter, made by glassblowers in the Bavarian forest or rolling off a belt in a high-tech production facility, every product has a story to tell.
The product’s story, however, doesn’t end the moment it is finished and launched to the public. It continues its journey to its final destination in an interior. Therefore, this book also shows international reference projects where these products have been used successfully. Each design is featured on eight pages with producer and designer profiles, contact details, drawings, sketches, renderings and photos of the making-of process, the finished product and interiors.
The selected products have emerged from the sketchbooks of designers like Arik Levy, BarberOsgerby, Estudio Campana, Jean-Marie Massaud, Konstantin Grcic , Patricia Urquiola and UNStudio, and are made in cooperation with brands like Edra, Herman Miller, Interstuhl, Moooi, Vitra, Vorwerk Carpets and Zumtobel.
